Representatives from the Hispano Chamber of Commerce de Las Cruces, MECA Therapies, La Clinica de Familia and FirstLight Federal Credit Union prepare to distribute more than 200 backpacks to local families as part of the organizations’ Project Back to School backpack and supply drive held during June and July. The backpacks were filled with socks, underwear, hygienic items, books and school supplies. The items were donated by various businesses and members of the community. In addition to the donations, Project Back to School raised more than $3,000 to purchase additional supplies for returning students. The Hispano Chamber would like to thank MECA Therapies, FirstLight Federal Credit Union, La Clinica de Familia, Bravo Mic Communications and the Las Cruces Sun-News for their participation and contribution for Project Back to School.
